The Bar Code Tattoo is a young adult dystopian novel set in a future world where everyone has to have a bar code implanted in their arm by the time they’re sixteen. This barcode gives you access to everything, from your car to your bank account. Every time teenagers turn sixteen they’re all excited to get this new “key to adulthood”. Kayla doesn’t want one though. She’s about to turn sixteen and she thinks the idea of the bar code tattoos is really creepy.
