Book Mob-aka Library Flash Mob!

Book Mob – aka Library Flash Mob!

You, me, fans of Maurice Sendak, friends of the public library, readers and everyone passing by!

Where The Wild Things Are- book cover

The Library’s first flash mob!

Well, we call it a book mob.

This is an all-ages, family-friendly, community event - organized through social media and powered by the people.

Meet on the front lawn outside the

Spring Garden Public Library.

Friday, July 27th, at 12 noon sharp.

When the signal goes up (and you’ll know it when you see it), the event begins.  Participants open their copies of “Where the Wild Things Are” by Maurice Sendak.  We encourage you to share your book with friends and strangers alike.  Read aloud.  And when you’re done, so is the event!

This is a tribute to the late, great Maurice Sendak (June 10, 1928 – May 8, 2012).  One of his best known works, “Where the Wild Things Are”, is a classic and award-winning children’s book. It was remade as a live-action motion picture in 2009. And the library has the book in braille too!

Why not?

Exactly!  Check out our Facebook event page for more details.

See you there!
