Halifax Public Libraries and NSUPE, Local 14 representing Library workers reached an agreement on September 13, and the new collective agreement was ratified on September 15. Every effort will be made to open libraries quickly. In the coming days, community members can expect:

All Libraries and book drops will open to the public on September 19.

Items that were on our hold shelves when branches closed will continue to be available for pickup until Wednesday, September 25. You may get notifications about new holds in the coming days; these will be available for pickup once branches reopen.

Home Delivery, Borrow by Mail, and Interlibrary Loans services will resume over the next two weeks.

Room rentals will resume.

English Language Learning and English Conversation Groups' schedules will be adjusted.

Volunteer opportunities and recruitment will resume.
