There have been some exciting updates for the planned renovations at Dartmouth North Public Library!
In 2018, in partnership with the Halifax Regional Municipality, we unveiled and opened the new Dartmouth North Community Centre and Library's outdoor library and playground. The next phase of the renovation project will be updating the interior space of the Library.
Interior renovations begin
Starting Fall 2020, the renovation at Dartmouth North Public Library will be updating and redesigning the interior of the space. Changes will be made to the layout, entrance of the building, programming rooms, and library staff space. We also will be adding new furniture, flooring, lighting, shelving, and refreshing new paint colours.
Construction is beginning this fall and is expected to take about six months to complete. During this renovation project, the existing branch will be closed. A temporary location for Dartmouth North Public Library will open nearby to continue serving this neighborhood. We are still working on finding the right temporary location and will provide an update as soon as possible.
