The Library has been busy preparing for the planned renovations at Dartmouth North Public Library.
Dartmouth North Public Library will be moving to a temporary location during this renovation. The Outdoor Library at the current location, 105 Highfield Park Drive, will remain accessible through the renovation with continued access to free WiFi, outdoor seating, and a Book Drop bin. There are no planned Rec Centre interruptions during the renovation. Dartmouth North Public Library’s last day of Curbside Pick-up service will be Saturday, December 5 with service resuming at the temporary location at a later date.
Temporary location
We are happy to share that Dartmouth North Public Library will continue to offer service at Farrell Hall while updates to the existing branch are completed. It is expected that this temporary location will be open by mid-December.
Farrell Hall is located at 276 Windmill Road, opens a new window at the corner of Albro Lake Road, and is also home to Tribal Boxing Club, opens a new window. Farrell Hall is a Dartmouth community space that typically hosts Bingo and other local events. Work has started to ensure Farrell Hall is ready to operate as a temporary library branch. Bingo and other events will not be held at Farrell Hall while the library provides service on the main floor of the building.
Library services at Farrell Hall will include free wireless internet (WiFi), Chromebook and iPad lending, public use computers, printing and photocopying, a selection of books and items to borrow from our collection, and a Book Drop bin. You’ll also be able to pick-up your holds at Farrell Hall and use our Curbside Pick-up service.
Holds and Curbside Pick-up update
Please note that Dartmouth North Public Library’s last day of Curbside Pick-up service will be Saturday, December 5. Curbside Pick-up service will resume at Farrell Hall when the temporary location opens for service by mid-December.
If you have requested your holds to be picked up at Dartmouth North Public Library (105 Highfield Park Drive) and they will be available after December 5, those items will be sent to Farrell Hall. You can also choose to pick-up items at another library location.
