Scanpro 800 Microfilm Scanner
Used to view films of different sizes including 16mm, 35mm, positive and negative microfiche. Especially useful for those researching the past through our collection of local newspapers on microfilm. The viewing software will allow you to manipulate the images in several ways including zooming in and out, straightening, rotating, as well as making changes to the images’ brightness or contrast. If you find an article of interest you can save your selection directly to the computer for emailing, transfer it to a USB memory stick, or send it to the nearest print station.
HP Scanjet 8300
Ideal for letter and legal sized documents. Plastic film scanning templates located in the Local History Room can be used to scan 35mm slides and negatives. After scanning you can then edit, clean up, and enhance your images using installed software Photoshop Elements 13.
Epson Expression Scanner 11000 XL
If you are looking to digitize a collection of old family photos this scanner will be of great assistance. Using the plastic film templates located in the Local History Room, you can scan many different sizes of materials including batches of 35mm slides. With its high scanning resolution, you can complete professional quality scans of even oversized materials (12.2” X 17.2”). After scanning, you will be able to easily restore colour and detail to old photos, slides, and negatives using Photoshop Elements 13.
