On November 8, actor, author, and Montreal Canadiens fan, Jay Baruchel, came to Halifax Central Library to discuss his new book, Born Into It.
Speaking to CBC's Weekend Mornings host, Bill Roach, Jay discussed growing up in Canada, moving away to pursue a career in acting, and how hockey has always kept him close to home.
Passion for the game
Born Into It is Jay Baruchel's personal reflection of growing up as a fan of the Montreal Canadiens and hockey in general.
Jay received great response from the audience, while explaining pieces of his book. One particular crowd pleaser, during the conversation, was a direct reading from the book—Jay's personal letter to his least favourite team in the NHL, and rival of the Montreal Canadiens, the Boston Bruins.
Jay also shared his thoughts on the current Montreal Canadiens team, and some recent trades that he's enjoyed, and others he hasn't much appreciated—one being the blockbuster P.K. Subban (for Shea Weber) trade that happened several years ago.
After his discussion, Jay took some interesting questions from the audience, and signed copies of his book for fans.
