On November 23, 2022, community members were invited to Halifax Central Library to celebrate 45 years of the Library's University Classes for Everyone, opens a new window partnership with Saint Mary's University, opens a new window. Through this unique, longstanding partnership, Halifax Public Libraries locations serve as satellite campuses for Saint Mary's University courses.
Past, current, and future students enjoyed an afternoon of knowledge sharing with remarks from our Chief Librarian and CEO, Åsa Kachan, and Dr. Rob Summerby-Murray, President of Saint Mary's University, followed by a short lecture by Dr. Rohini Bannerjee, of Saint Mary’s Faculty of Arts.
