We're open! Halifax Public Libraries and Halifax Regional Municipality are proud to invite you into your newly renovated Musquodoboit Harbour Recreation Centre and Library space.
The Library, Community Centre, and Fitness Centre have been completely refurbished, creating a vibrant, modern, and accessible space for everyone. The upgrades include new heating, electrical, and lighting systems, accessible washrooms, gathering areas, and new programming spaces.
Celebrating with our community
On January 27, 2018, we re-opened the doors in Musquodoboit Harbour, and our community came to play!
Mayor Mike Savage, Councillor David Hendsbee, and Library and Recreation staff proudly cut the red ribbon on our shared Welcome Desk to officially mark the beginning of this new chapter. Music from Susan Eisan and local fiddlers filled the modern, open space; and balloon animal-making, face-painting, and storytime brought laughter and pops of colour. Guests browsed through new community art installations, updated shelving, and technology; and families battled it out in the new gaming area.
Suddenly, this space became a place. Community members have that effect on our spaces. Thank you, and welcome back!
