We danced, we sang, we had a ball.
On December 13, the witches and wizards of Halifax came out to celebrate the 4th Annual Yule Ball in Paul O'Regan Hall at Halifax Central Library. The event is organized every year by teen volunteers and Teen Services staff from Central Library.
It was a magical evening of dancing, wand-making, fortune telling with Captured Escape Room, opens a new window, being transported by our green screen, hearing our fates from the Sorting Hat, and enjoying sweet treats from Honeydukes—all the perks of the Wizarding World. We also welcomed some of Hogwarts' finest from Hal-Con, opens a new window to join in on the fun.
Winning house
Every year, Yule Ball attendees represent their respective houses the best they can by taking part in challenges and activities throughout the evening.
“By Gryffindor, the bravest were
Prized far beyond the rest;
For Ravenclaw, the cleverest
Would always be the best;
For Hufflepuff, hard workers were
Most worthy of admission;
And power-hungry Slytherin
Loved those of great ambition.”
By the end of the night, Hufflepuff had to hand over their bragging rights from our 2017, as Ravenclaw captured winning house with most points. Congrats!
We look forward to seeing you at the Yule Ball again in 2019.
