Are You Up for the Challenge?

Every day, one challenge is issued (May 1-7) on the Library's Instagram account @hfxpublib and here.

Read your mission and decide to take part or pass. You can always go back to the first challenge if you skip or miss it.

Day 1: #PassItOn
Two years ago, Chloe’s aunt gave her Eleanor & Park, by Rainbow Rowell. Chloe has decided it's time she passed it on, too. She is giving it to her younger cousin. What book would you pass along? Post a photo on Instagram and tag us @hfxpublib. Bonus entry if you use #fightevilreadbooks.

Day 2: #BuddingDirector
Hands down, Dylan Minnette of 13 Reasons Why would be the perfect actor to play Holden Caulfield in a book2movie of Catcher in the Rye. Pick a book2movie and cast or re-cast one of its characters. Post a photo and tag us. Bonus entry if you use #fightevilreadbooks.

Day 3: #BuddingProducer
What book do you think would make the best summer movie? We think Vigilante Poets of Selwyn Academy has the right kind of best friend story for Summer. To enter the contest share a photo of your pick and tag us @hfxpublib on Instagram.

Day 4: #RandomActs #BookPoetry
Step before any bookshelf. Randomly pull 3-4 books. Stack them with their title/spines facing you. Make the best or most humourous sentence you can by reordering the titles. The top book is first line of book poetry. To enter into the content, post a photo and tag us.

Day 5: #PetBomb
I can haz lieberry? Today's challenge for you. Photo bomb a library scene with a pet or two. To enter, post photo and tag us.

Day 6: #judgethebook
Here is the perfect rainy day challenge. Choose a book you think has a cover you can make better (we know, not hard to find). Redesign the cover (try using canva) and enter it by posting and tagging us on Instagram.

Enter to Win

To complete a challenge, you must post your response on Instagram and use tag the Library @hfxpublib.

Bonus entry if you use #FightEvilReadBooks.

Each post is one entry in a draw for a chance to win one of three prizes.

Check here at 3 PM each day and follow us on Instagram to see the latest challenge.

Deadline: midnight, Monday, May 8, 2017.
All entrants must read the Contest Rules. (pdf)
