The Fault In Our Stars by Talia, Teen Blogger

The Fault In Our Stars- book coverOver the Christmas break I was looking for some new books to read. I had heard a lot of buzz about this book called The Fault in Our Stars by John Green.

It had received rave reviews from many authors and critics, and was deemed ‘TIME Magazine’s #1 Fiction Book of 2012’ among countless other recognitions and awards. Who could say no to that read?

I tore through this book. It was the perfect mix of real life tragedy, twists and turns, and parts that would make you smile.

It’s about a girl who was diagnosed with terminal cancer when she was younger. She thought that was all there was to her life until she met Augustus Waters. You get to take her journey with her as she discovers hope, adventure, heartbreak, and love.

This book is very sad, so don’t read it if you’re looking for a light read. It brings up some interesting issues and really makes you think. I found it very much a Jodi Picoult type of book, aimed at teens (though adults will enjoy this book as well - my mom read it when I was done!).

There are some parts that are a little hard to get into, but once you’ve started reading you’ll want to keep reading until you find out what happens. I don’t want to give anything else away so I will let you read it for yourself.

Keep some tissues nearby!
