Graduation Celebration! by Talia, Teen Blogger

Let’s hear it for graduation! Hip hip HOORAY! Hip hip HOORAY! HIP HIP HOORAY!

Grad cap and Scroll - photoIt’s finally here. The moment you’ve been waiting for over the past 12 years. You are graduating! After this month you will be done with high school forever. And that is a very exciting, although somewhat scary, fact. All those essays you stayed up all night writing, all the friend drama, all the terrible school lunches, all of that is behind you now.

‘So is this the end?’ you might be asking yourself. I mean, it’s all you’ve known for pretty much as long as you can remember. Is it really all over, just like that?

I’m afraid it’s not that simple. I can’t just answer yes, or no. Because both are true. Yes, it’s true that high school is over and everything’s going to change. But just because you aren’t in high school anymore doesn’t mean that you won’t be writing any more essays, or won’t be seeing any of your friends again. Even if you decide to go to universities in different countries, you can still come home for Christmas and have get-togethers with all your old friends. It’s easier than ever to stay in touch nowadays with the internet, Facebook, and Skype. So when you walk across that stage with your cap and gown, don’t be sad that it’s over. Smile because you did it! And the best is yet to come!

So is it the end? Well, I suppose the answer to that is yes. But it’s just the end of the beginning.
