Access for All

Halifax Public Libraries is a member of the Halifax Regional CAP Association, a non-profit organization aimed at providing access to technology and technology-related training. Our 14 branches are a part of their network, called CAP sites, from Hubbards to Sheet Harbour.

Terms of Use
Halifax Public Libraries provides access to public computers and wireless Internet in all of its branches. Customers who make use of these services agree to follow the Library’s Internet Service Terms of Use.

Assistive Technology
With eight branches equipped with assistive technology workstations, Halifax Public Libraries make sure the computers fit your needs and not the other way around.

Book-a-Computer
You can book a computer online, over the phone, or in-person at your local branch.

Computer Labs
Non-profit groups can book these labs free of charge for workshops and training sessions.

One-on-One Computer Training
Call your branch to book an appointment for personalized help with your basic computer skills, Internet searching, email, word processing, and eBooks.

Wireless Internet
All branch libraries have free wireless access to the internet.

Please note: All computers shut down 15 min before closing.

 

Printing

Customers can print from the Library’s public computers.

Remote printing from wireless devices (e.g., laptops, tablets, phones) is available at all branches.

Printing charges are levied by pages printed. All listed printing fees include HST.

Black & white printing

  • Single-sided: $0.10
  • Double-sided: $0.20

Colour printing

  • Single-sided: $0.25
  • Double-sided: $0.50
